"Tenure" | Diana Lee | Bukky Fehintola | Photograph Prose

occupancy ensues as full-blown desire
hot-yellow passion, lit from within
liquid gold pours from long slender throats
overflow from springs wine cellar

drunken heads bob and bounce
giddy in their innocence
seemingly indefatigable
insouciant unfettered

without warning, one by one
fragile tenure ends
as alpha saffron  fades
to snowy-haired omega

wisps plucked from former glory
beheaded by fickle summer draughts
their sad remains float above the ground
their revenge, a new tenancy below

APoem | Bukky Fehintola

My Dear Fellow, I Love you in that deep sense,
and in unity we sense it's the end of an era.
Your dense immense presence slowly perishes to mine,
and my mirror,
by grace,
is becoming ever clearer
"To You" | Diana Lee | Bukky Fehintola | Photograph Prose

They shared a table
and a drink
a handsome dapper man
comfortable in his skin
a woman searching
in a country not her own

They shared unexpected intimacies
as strangers often do,
stumbling along in two languages
the alcohol loosening tongues
as their stories flew
with intensity between them
stories
with a sudden need to be spoken
to be heard
remembered

Then, with one last sip
and the inevitability
of something always left behind
she said goodbye and turned to go
a slow glance over her shoulder
watching his knowing eyes
as he raised his glass
and said
‘To You’

APoem | Bukky Fehintola

The Promised Land.
Always almost dead.
The, 'oh maybe theres something better on the other side instead'.
Maybe the tale of love you drunk in while watching or read.
The warmth shared by the two of you in bed.
But its marred by the sheets that are soaked blood red.
"Voyeur" | Diana Lee | Bukky Fehintola | Photograph Prose

She watches
from the safety
of a sheltered distance
drinks in the silhouette of him
against the pale powdered sea
as his body
leans and rides the bluster
of salted air
and feels her own
begin to sway with his

She wishes
for his face to turn
to turn and see her there
and just as quickly prays
that it does not

She wonders
if,after all these years,
his scent is still the same
sandalwood and smoke
and if his eyes
still reflect the greens
of summer meadows

She steps
closer, hears her whispered name
lifted from his lips
carried on the zephyrs
that bring the sound
of footsteps
to his ear

He turns
to find her
watching
APoem | Bukky Fehintola

There is a place
where I have been
of which I am rather keen.
Space.
Inbetween
and surrounding the seen.
APoem | Bukky Fehintola

Iv ignored,
ran away from
and loathed you.
Hence its time for recompense.
I stand before you,
like a newborn baby with innocent eyes,
to make us recognise.

Living in dreams fears ideas
APoem | Bukky Fehintola

It comes how it comes.
The old is mould.
How will the untold unfold?
APoem | Bukky Fehintola
Gripped within the throws of abslolute passion.
I hate the half here.
APoem | Bukky Fehintola

To move one must move another.
The music is very loud and repetitive
Shouting to be heard by another.
Busy minds,
Scared confused and frazzled out of their wits
But why?
So much seems to be going on,
But shallow small and little goes on.
Scared of the void in our minds we run.
APoem | Bukky Fehintola
Ideas. Oh!
How they Grip.
Embroiled in joy
Yet
At the t'other end of it's presence is the sense that it could slip!
And, Alas I, will be the lesser man.
Of course Fallacy,
Though maybe you follow me?
APoem | Bukky Fehintola
Death always wins.
But for now, a mantra to employ:
to enjoy.

Iv come to say upon this day,
and not too far away,
under there, or there, il lay.
After my stay, what will they say?!

Withdrawing a memory reflecting
a figmant of my whole,
remember!? ah, he was such and such
and such, a soul!

Any of those who have ever been
around you like you are gone or going.
Regardless of whether in retrospect
they were worth knowing.

So sit still,
let free be will,
until, all comes blowing.
